Mark Pieloch: Not Your Typical Pharmacist

Mark Pieloch grew up in Gardner, Massachusetts, and graduated from Gardner High School in 1975 with the seventh highest grade point average in a class of nearly 400. He then completed a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy with top marks in both. Pieloch went on to obtain a master’s in business administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan, a move that prepared him well for his future entrepreneurial activities in the pharmaceutical field.

His first professional pharmacy job was as a registered pharmacist at Ray’s Pharmacy in Athol, Massachusetts. In 1980, he took a position as a research scientist with W. H. Rorer in Haverhill, Massachusetts, and then as a pharmacy manager for Kmart in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Pieloch then moved to McPherson, Kansas, to take on the challenges of a production planning analyst position at Sterling Drug. His next job was with SmithKline Beecham Animal Health in Lincoln, Nebraska, as a research pharmacist. In just five short years, Mark moved up through the ranks to be named director of Pharmaceutical Development at SmithKline Beecham.

In 1990, Mark started his first company, Pharma Chemie. The fledgling enterprise soon achieved considerable success and moved from Lincoln to Syracuse in Nebraska. Five years later, Mark followed up with the creation of Peak Nutrition, Inc., also in Syracuse. PalaTech Laboratories, Pet Flavors Inc. and FlavorTek Inc. soon followed, proving Mark Pieloch’s talents in the entrepreneurial field. Today, Mark continues to serve as the President of PF Inc. and the Chairman of the Board of PSPC Inc. while living and working in Melbourne, Florida.
